President & CEO
John founded JWA Public Affairs in 1999 after serving eight years in the Oregon State House of Representatives. Prior to his involvement in politics, John managed several successful businesses. He was involved in the personal computer business at its advent, providing business solutions to clients in Southern Oregon. John’s experience in small business and as a former Oregon legislator positions him well to effectively advocate for and provide counsel to both non-profit and for-profit businesses in Oregon. Dedicated to a strong community with a healthy business presence, he serves on a number of civic boards in Medford.
John enjoys spending his free time with family, on the course playing a round of golf with friends, in the kitchen cooking, listening to music, traveling, or reading a good book.
Chief Financial Officer
Cathy contributes her research and communication skills as well as organizational expertise to the JWA team. In addition to her operational and managerial support of JWA, Cathy helps keep our clients and friends up to date on current events through our News & Opinion service. Having worked for both the legislative and executive branches of government, she is well versed in the protocol of Oregon politics.
Along with her husband, John, she also enjoys family and travel.
Vice President of Operations
Scott brings more than 25 years of management and systems experience to the team, providing critical support with client research, communications, and fieldwork. His experience has proven to him the importance of building a strong communication channel between our clients, our partners, and JWA. Scott has served on several volunteer boards in the Rogue Valley and understands the challenges facing Southern Oregonians.
He and his wife, Laura, enjoy living in rural Jackson County with their horses, dog, and barn cat.
